Who Am I - A Short Intro
Do you ever just stop and ask yourself - who am I? What am I doing here?
*Read and Listen: Stray Kids "Who Am I?"
It happens to me all the time. I'm studying for an exam in two weeks and suddenly I'm wondering why I'm working so hard. Why choose this road where every turn is painful? What's the point of all this? Why do I try so hard to succeed when I know we will all eventually leave this world?

Why Are We Here?
“Life: the period between birth and death of a living thing.”
- Oxford English Dictionary
It’s just nature. The egg was fertilized, and you were the result. Do I believe in fate? I don’t know, but does it matter? Whether or not our choices are our own, does that change anything?
"Two roads diverged in the yellow wood and I took the road less travelled by, and that has made all the difference."
- Robert Frost
Did it though? Who cares whether or not that was your own decision? In the end, won't all roads eventually converge?

The Importance of the Journey
Still, though we all know the outcome, as the old saying goes, perhaps the journey is just as important. Leaving this world is predestined for each and every one of us. So, let’s live life to the fullest and when it’s our time, we go out content and fulfilled. I want to be able to think back and say that I grabbed the opportunity, took the risks, and did everything I wanted even though I made myself look like a complete idiot.
Seeing as we are already here in this world, though by no choice of our own, we might as well make this time the best of it, right? Make your decisions, whether or not you believe they are yours or not.
What Makes It Worth It
Emotion, knowledge. As I write this, I’m imagining it rising up from our bodies in little wisps into the universe. There are billions of humans on Earth, and there will be more to come. No matter how tiny we feel, I’d like to think that these little tendrils of feeling and wisdom would be our own way of leaving a small mark in the great expanse that is. What we feel impacts what we do. What we do can affect any number of people around us or far away from us. A movement begins from a thought. A revolution begins from emotion, knowledge. Emotions of discontent, horror, abandonment, anger. Knowledge of the problems that lie within and knowledge of the solutions that must be released.
Final Note
So, the next time you find yourself wondering if all your efforts are in vain, perhaps you should be asking yourself, “What do I feel? What do I know? What is my goal? How can I make change?” Do what you want. Feel what you want. Improve what you can. Because we belong to ourselves.
